Description

Deliver priority changes across an existing stack of Rust, Go, TypeScript, microservices and Temporal, running on Kubernetes and AWS. This role suits an experienced senior-to-staff engineer with three years minimum experience contributing to a complex technology system, a strong track record of independent delivery, practical debugging and targeted improvements to testability.

You will work with a range of technical and business stakeholders to clarify expected behaviour, deliver focused changes and communicate technical trade-offs and verification limits clearly. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Role Responsibilities

  • Implement and deliver priority changes across services and languages.
  • Investigate defects across service boundaries and asynchronous workflows.
  • Clarify expected behaviour and acceptance criteria with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Add focused tests, instrumentation and small refactors to verify changes and reduce delivery risk.
  • Work within existing Kubernetes, AWS and CI/CD environments to support secure, repeatable releases.
  • Keep changes reviewable and communicate progress, dependencies, technical trade-offs and verification gaps clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key skills and experience

Must-haves

  • Kubernetes / AWS – Hands-on deployment and troubleshooting of containerised services.
  • Rust / Go / TypeScript – Strong production skills in at least one language, demonstrated ability to work across languages.
  • DevSecOps / CI/CD – Practical experience with secure delivery, pipelines, automated checks and releases.
  • Distributed systems – Experience with microservices, asynchronous processing, service integration and failure handling.
  • Debugging and observability – Ability to diagnose cross-service issues using code, logs, metrics and traces.
  • Testing and refactoring – Ability to add focused verification and improve existing code incrementally.
