About us
Benmax has been family-owned and operated since 1986, built on a straightforward philosophy: do the right thing, deliver quality work, and treat people well. With more than 200 people across Australia, we have grown into one of the country’s most trusted mechanical services and HVAC businesses, taking on some of the most complex projects in the industry. We are now scaling rapidly to support a major AI-infrastructure rollout spanning multiple sites in Tasmania, and we are building the site leadership team that underpins the program.

About this EOI
We are growing our project delivery team and expect to bring on a number of Site Manager positions over the next six months as new sites come online. Rather than wait for roles to be advertised individually, we want to hear from experienced site leaders now so we can move quickly when the time is right.
About the role
As Site Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the management and oversight of Benmax on-site operations, leading site teams and subcontractors to meet project deliverables. This is a hands-on leadership position covering planning, coordination, compliance, and team development, and you will report directly to a Senior Project Manager.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Providing overall leadership, direction, and accountability for safety, quality, and productivity outcomes across the site
- Acting as the senior on-site representative and primary point of contact for client and subcontractor matters
- Directing site logistics planning, including deliveries, crane lifts, and equipment allocation, and delegating day to day execution to supervisors and leading hands
- Chairing construction, site safety, and toolbox meetings
- Holding overall responsibility for WHS compliance, ensuring hazards and risks are proactively identified and managed
- Maintaining oversight of site records, including daily diaries, QA documentation, and progress reports
- Planning and forecasting labour and resourcing requirements, and managing costs against the project budget
- Mentoring and developing site supervisors, leading hands, and tradespeople to build team capability
What we are looking for
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a site management or senior supervisory role
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors
- Extensive knowledge of construction management, safety, and compliance frameworks
- Strong competence in hazard management systems and WHS governance
- Confidence using the Microsoft suite of products and project management platforms, with experience in Procure and Aconex regarded favourably
- A Diploma of Building and Construction (or equivalent), Certificate IV WHS, and current First Aid certificate are all desirable
- Unrestricted, Australian driver’s licence
