Role Overview: You will report directly to the Head of Allied Health. As a Core or Proficient or Advanced/Specialist Practitioner, your key responsibilites may include:
- Providing a holistic and evidence-based approach to PBS.
- Handling a caseload and working within specified timeframes, while providing supervision and support to core practitioners.
- Undertaking thorough functional behavioural assessments.
- Developing detailed PBS plans and interim support plans, ensuring they are person-centered, culturally appropriate, and tailored to the needs of implementers.
- Implementing strategies that effectively reduce the frequency and duration of behaviours of concern, and that prevent the need to use restrictive practices. This includes coaching others in ethical and least-restrictive approaches.
- Liaising and collaborating with allied health professionals and participant’s families and/or carers to address individual participant needs to achieve their goals.
- Monitoring and reporting on participant progress towards NDIS goals and therapeutic impacts of behaviour strategies.
- Having a comprehensive understanding of reportable incidents and taking the initiative to analyse a situation and make recommendations accordingly to minimise the risk of further incidents.
- Having a commitment to continual learning and contributing to the culture of the company by upholding the company’s values and mission.
- Assisting in the establishment and development of new curricula, programs, pathways and company policies related to PBS.
- Taking detailed and coherent case notes using the company’s electronic clinical record.
- Delivering organisational wide education and training programs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficient level capability or higher pursuant to The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework (1+ years’ experience).
- Degree in allied health or social and behavioral sciences or extensive working experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of the NDIS and the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
