Our team is built on collaboration, clinical excellence and flexibility. We support clinicians to thrive professionally while maintaining a strong focus on quality care, innovation and meaningful outcomes for clients, legal representatives and stakeholders.

We currently operate across Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania, offering diverse opportunities for clinicians across mental health, physical disability, home modifications, assistive technology, paediatrics and behaviour support.

About the Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a highly experienced Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 7 years’ post-graduate experience to join our expanding team. In this exciting new role, you will be responsible for the intake assessments for new OT referrals to support the triage and allocation of referrals to the broader team. Alongside this, you will complete medicolegal assessments and reports and at times carry a small caseload as required.

This is a senior clinical role focused on supporting the broader OT team with timely and effective allocation of referrals, as well as the completion of medicolegal assessments and expert reports for legal representatives, insurers, government agencies and tribunal matters.

You will utilise your advanced clinical reasoning, assessment expertise and report-writing skills to provide independent, objective and evidence-based opinions regarding functional capacity, disability-related impacts, support requirements, rehabilitation needs, assistive technology and home modifications.

This role is ideal for an experienced Occupational Therapist seeking to leverage their expertise within a specialised medicolegal environment, balanced with general OT intake assessments to support the broader team.

Please note: Due to the independent and expert nature of this role, applicants must have a minimum of 7 years’ post-graduate Occupational Therapy experience. Applications that do not meet this requirement will not be considered.

In This Role, You Will

  • Conduct telehealth intake assessments for Occupational Therapy referrals.
  • Clinically triage referrals to determine suitability, urgency, and service requirements.
  • Support allocation of referrals to therapists based on skillset, experience, location, and client needs.
  • Support timely intake, scheduling, and coordination processes.
  • Identify and escalate clinical risks or safeguarding concerns.
  • Liaise with clients, families, referrers, legal representatives, and clinicians.
  • Manage medicolegal enquiries and referrals alongside our administration team, and support the allocation of this work to therapists, including setting up templates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and internal systems.
  • Undertake medicolegal assessments and reports and carry a small clinical caseload as required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum 7 years’ post-graduate Occupational Therapy experience.
  • Significant experience conducting Occupational Therapy assessments in a range of settings
  • Exceptional report-writing and written communication skills.
  • Advanced clinical reasoning and analytical abilities.
  • Strong understanding of disability, rehabilitation and the NDIS environment.
  • Ability to prepare independent, objective and defensible expert opinions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.

Highly Desirable Experience

  • Previous intake and triage experience
  • Previous medicolegal experience.
  • Occupational rehabilitation experience.
  • Experience preparing reports for insurers, compensation schemes or legal representatives.
