Summary of position:
The Administration and Finance Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations and administrative functions of our organisation in Port Broughton, South Australia. This temporary, casual position is ideal for a mid-senior level professional looking to contribute to our accountancy team while ensuring compliance and efficiency in financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Finance and Administration Officers with processing queries relating to:
- Asset Register
- Accommodation Payments register
- Community Services
- Sound understanding of software processing, in particular payroll and rents, and the impacts of entries.
- Provide solutions and solve problems for employee or client related queries (within scope)
- Understanding of the Enterprise Agreements
- Assist the Finance Manager with the End of month processing, including maintenance and reconciliations of general ledger accounts as required.
- Sound understanding and provide assistance of all duties at level 4:
- Providing reception and switchboard services
- Ordering and maintaining office supplies and equipment
- Coordinating mailouts and associated services
- Maintaining electronic and manual filing system
- Liasing with clients regarding scheduled services, and updating records when required
- Entering data into the general ledger and/or creditor modules, as required.
- Providing an efficient, comprehensive administrative and financial support service to the Administration and Finance manager and Director of Business Operations by:
- Managing consumer and employee appointments, assisting with any documentation requirements
- Processing fortnightly payroll and rents
- Processing of records related to: Debtors, creditors and general ledger.
- Resident trust accounts.
- Payroll Reconciling petty cash and banking and coordinating staff rostering if required
Qualifications:
- No formal qualifications required.
- Proven understanding of aged care funding
- Experience in administrative and financial support services, including payroll, debtors, creditors and general ledger.
- Certificate III in Business Administration, Financial Services or related.
- Previous experience in Aged Care Administrative and Financial support roles.
- Proficient with computer use.
- Effective communication and advanced literacy skills.
- Proficient time management. Ability to prioritise.
- Initiative to pre-empt certain situations.
- A genuine empathy with the elderly.
- Ability to work well in a team, use initiative and follow instructions as provided.

Must provide a National Police Clearance Check that is dated not more than six months old to enable the assessment of whether the employee is suitable to provide care under the Aged Care Act. This clearance must remain updated by the employee during the contract period. Must comply with Barunga Village’s immunisation policies and procedures at all times.
