Join AVI’s South Asia Team! We’re currently looking for a Recruitment Program Officer to support the operations of the Australian Volunteers program in our Sri Lanka office.

AVI supports the implementation of the Australian Volunteers Program on behalf of the Australian Government. The Australian Volunteers Program supports skilled Australian volunteers to work alongside organisations to sustainably build the capacity of people, organisations and communities in various countries across the Pacific, Asia and Africa.

The Recruitment & Program Officer responsible for delivery of a seamless volunteer recruitment service which effectively coordinates inputs from multiple sources within Australia and In Country – providing responsive, high quality volunteer recruitment support and administrative services to support the effective operation of the Australian Volunteers Program.

Position Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (eg. Social Work, International Relations, Public Relations, Business Administration, Human Resources, etc.) and/or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation of a range of recruitment strategies and processes, including behavioural interviewing techniques, reference checking principles
  • Demonstrated experience supporting of international programs, preferably in a development context, including administration, finance and information management
  • Cross-cultural awareness, including an ability to work with people from varied cultural backgrounds
  • Sound knowledge of, and commitment to the underpinning values, goals and objectives of the Australian Volunteers Program (AVP)
  • Understanding of and commitment to AVI’s Vision and Values, Equal Employment Opportunity, Occupational Health & Safety, Child Protection and Privacy principles*
