APT Travel Group – We are a world leading travel company, passionate about helping
travellers explore cultures, experience places, and connect with others, to live an enriched life. This passion, along with a profound respect for ourselves, our workmates, our customers, our community and our environment, has seen ATG establish a position as one of the world’s leading travel companies.
The Role
We are excited to introduce a brand-new role designed to elevate our organization’s data and insights capabilities. As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will apply your expertise in SQL, data analysis, and visualisation tools such as Power BI to streamline, automate, and strengthen our reporting ecosystem. Embedded within the Commercial team but serving a broad cross-functional audience, you will act as a strategic partner—solving complex data problems and uncovering the insights that drive our business forward.
About You
You have 4+ years of experience and see yourself as a consultative data partner, not just a technical expert. You excel at identifying and resolving data issues, taking ownership of complex challenges, and turning data into business value. This role offers an approximately 60/40 technical-to-business mix, combining hands-on data work with strategic analysis and insight generation. You act as a trusted advisor rather than a ticket-taker, partnering with stakeholders to challenge assumptions, solve business problems, and deliver meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, transform, and interpret complex data using SQL, Power BI, and Excel to deliver meaningful business insights.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
- Provide actionable recommendations through data storytelling, helping leaders make informed decisions.
- Deliver ad hoc reporting, analysis, and troubleshooting support across the business.
- Drive data quality, governance, documentation, and root-cause analysis to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.
- Train and support users to increase self-service reporting capability and adoption of BI tools.
- Continuously improve reporting processes, visualisations, and data solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Skills & Experience
- 4+ years’ experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analyst, or similar role.
- Advanced SQL skills and strong experience with Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query, and dashboard development.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to perform detailed commercial and operational analysis.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, relationships, and data modelling concepts.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes or data integration tools is advantageous.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills, with a talent for data storytelling.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel industry experience is desirable but not essential.
