The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Membership Manager. The Membership Manager drives recruitment, retention and engagement strategies for strong membership growth. Responsible for the end-to-end member journey, the role ensures AusIMM meets its objectives for new member growth while ensuring targeted retention levels and maintaining member satisfaction. This role is pivotal in growing our membership base and achieving revenue targets for the organisation.

Key responsibilities and activities include:

Membership Recruitment and Retention

  • Lead the implementation of the membership growth strategy.
  • Develop and implement effective retention programs.
  • Develop and implement acquisition campaigns tailored to different membership segments.
  • Ensure robust processes for membership renewal programs and promotional campaigns are in place.

Member Support and Engagement

  • Liaise closely with the member services team on day-to-day member servicing.
  • Develop and implement a high-quality new member onboarding program.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteer leaders and committees.
  • Identify and implement membership process improvements.

Leadership and Management

  • Track performance against targets including preparing regular reports for executive management and Board.
  • Monitor and manage budgets to ensure revenue and expenditure targets are met.
  • Analyse data to gain insights.
  • Provide guidance and training to the team on handling member issues.

About You:

You will have sound experience as a Membership Manager and demonstrated success in developing and implementing membership growth and retention campaigns, preferably in an association setting. We are looking for a motivated and confident individual who is excited by driving growth.

You will have:

  • A minimum five years’ experience in a membership management role, ideally within an association environment.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful membership campaigns that have led to growth in acquisition and retention.
  • Well developed knowledge of B2C sales and marketing and how these can be used to achieve growth targets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure and evaluate membership metrics and use insights for continuous improvement and reporting.
  • Understanding of membership database management systems.

Highly regarded skills:

  • Experience in a professional association
  • Experience working with the mining sector or another highly technical sector
