About the role:

The Industry Relationships and Partnerships Manager is AusIMM’s primary representative within South Australia and is responsible for strengthening the organisation’s presence, influence and commercial partnerships across the state. Acting as the key local contact for government, industry, members, volunteers, universities and strategic partners, the role works to grow AusIMM’s reach, reputation and impact throughout the resources sector.

The position combines stakeholder engagement, government relations, partnership development and revenue generation responsibilities. Through building trusted relationships with key decision-makers and identifying opportunities for collaboration, the role will support AusIMM’s advocacy priorities, strengthen member engagement and deliver sustainable partnership revenue growth.

Working closely with internal teams and volunteer leaders, this role will identify opportunities to enhance AusIMM’s profile, advance strategic initiatives and support the continued growth of the organisation within South Australia

Key responsibilities and activities include:

Industry Engagement & Representation

  • Serve as AusIMM’s primary representative and ambassador across South Australia.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government, industry, universities and key stakeholders.
  • Strengthen engagement with members, branches, communities of interest and volunteers.
  • Represent AusIMM at industry events, forums and stakeholder meetings.

Member Growth & Organisational Influence

  • Promote participation in AusIMM membership, programs, events and initiatives.
  • Support volunteer leaders to deliver high-quality member engagement activities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase influence across workforce, skills and industry development discussions.

Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Development

  • Develop a strong pipeline of partnership, sponsorship and market development opportunities.
  • Secure and grow strategic partnerships that support organisational objectives and revenue targets.
  • Lead partnership proposals, negotiations and relationship management activities.

Essential

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience achieving revenue or business development targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship management capabilities.
  • Experience working autonomously and representing an organisation externally.
  • Strong written communication and proposal development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across complex stakeholder environments

Highly Regarded

  • Experience within mining, resources, energy or a related technical industry.
  • Experience working with government stakeholders.
  • Experience within a professional association, membership organisation or not-for-profit.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, communications, public policy, marketing or related disciplines.
