Summary:

The Blade Repair Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of wind turbines at site level. This position involves inspecting, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical and hydraulic issues, as well as completing scheduled maintenance to ensure all components operate safely and efficiently. The role requires fitting and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate or repair turbine equipment, supporting both mechanical and electrical completions, while maintaining compliance with industry and site standards. This role will be a travel based role across Wind Farms throughout Australia.

Roster: 3w/1w 10hrs per day, subject to Client requirements

Mobilise: April 2026

Contract Length: Minimum 6-12 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out blade repair and maintenance tasks in line with project repair plans, under the guidance of the Site Lead and Composites Engineer.
  • Perform safe and efficient blade inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Actively participate in site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily pre-start meetings.
  • Accurately complete reporting for both company and client requirements.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all safety, quality, and site standards.
  • Potential requirement to work across multiple sites

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Have full GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) and GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART)
  • White Card, LVR/CPR
  • Enter & Work in Confined Spaces (within 2 years)
  • Current Australian driving license
  • Strong Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and follow engineering plans

Desired Qualifications (Highly regarded)

  • Experience conducting or assisting with complex blade repairs
  • Experience with GE, Nordex, Suzlon or Siemens turbines
  • EWP ticket and High-Risk Work Licence
