We are seeking a Junior HSE Advisor to join our team on a major wind farm construction project in regional NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging HSE professional to gain hands-on experience on a large-scale renewable energy project while working alongside experienced safety leaders.

With approximately two years of project work ahead, this role offers stability, development opportunities, and exposure to all stages of wind farm construction.

 

The Role

Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will support the implementation and maintenance of health, safety and environmental systems across the project site.

Working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and project leadership, you will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with project, legislative and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of HSE management systems, procedures and project requirements.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits and observations.
  • Assist in risk assessments, hazard identification and control implementation.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action management.
  • Assist with environmental compliance and monitoring activities.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and HSE communications.
  • Maintain safety records, reports and project documentation.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities and site safety initiatives.
  • Work closely with supervisors and subcontractors to promote safe work practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the project.

 

 About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum requirement).
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a HSE, Safety Coordinator, Safety Officer or similar role.
  • Exposure to construction, civil, infrastructure, energy or renewable projects.
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation and safety management principles.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent administrative and reporting skills – you must know how to navigate systems and use technology
  • The ability to engage confidently with workers, supervisors and contractors.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Driver’s Licence and to work away

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working on wind farm, renewable energy or major infrastructure projects.
  • Environmental compliance experience.
  • First Aid qualifications.
  • ICAM or incident investigation training.
  • Experience using online safety management systems.
