Description

Aurora ARC is currently seeking experienced High Voltage Electricians – Testing & Commissioning for a major wind farm construction project in New South Wales. This role will focus on the testing, commissioning and energisation of wind turbine electrical systems, transformers, protection relays and associated high-voltage infrastructure. This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale renewable energy project and play a key role in bringing new wind generation assets online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dry-type transformer testing and commissioning
  • Core insulation resistance testing
  • Transformer turns ratio (TTR) testing
  • Converter current transformer (CT) testing
  • Current transformer testing and verification
  • Transformer protection relay testing
  • Relay final primary injection testing
  • MV side Power Quality Meter (PQM) testing
  • LV side Power Quality Meter (PQM) testing
  • 6kV transformer testing and commissioning
  • 690V transformer testing and commissioning
  • Completion of test reports and commissioning documentation
  • Fault finding and rectification support during energisation activities
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, Australian Standards and site safety requirements

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • NSW Electrical Licence
  • High Voltage Switching and/or HV Operations qualifications
  • Proven experience in HV testing and commissioning environments
  • Experience with transformer testing, protection systems and relay testing
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, protection schematics and commissioning documentation
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
  • Construction White Card
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Previous wind farm, renewable energy, substation or major infrastructure project experience highly regarded
