Description

Inside Sales Consultant (Technical Focus)

About the Role

We’re looking for an Internal Sales Consultant to manage sales enquiries, quoting and order processing from the office — a technically-minded problem solver who’s comfortable working through specs, drawings and product data to get the right answer, every time.

This is not a showroom-facing or retail sales role. You won’t be selling face-to-face to walk-in customers. You’ll be the person builders, architects, trade customers and our own sales team rely on to turn a set of requirements into an accurate, technically sound quote — and to chase down the right answer when the information in front of you doesn’t immediately add up.

What You’ll Do

  • Process sales and quote enquiries from builders, architects, trade customers and internal stakeholders
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications and product data to build accurate, deliverable quotes
  • Problem-solve discrepancies or gaps in the information provided — cross-referencing specs, plans and product data to work out the correct answer rather than guessing
  • Prepare and follow up written quotations, converting enquiries into confirmed orders
  • Enter and manage orders accurately in Aura’s systems (including Compass), keeping data clean and traceable
  • Liaise with production scheduling and operations to confirm lead times, stock and manufacturability of what’s being quoted
  • Maintain clear, organised records across multiple live quotes and orders at once
  • Build genuine technical product knowledge across Aura’s aluminium window and door range so you can answer detailed questions without needing to escalate every time
  • Support the wider sales team with technical and administrative backup as required

About You

  • Technically minded — you enjoy working through detail, specs and data rather than finding it tedious
  • Strong problem-solving ability: comfortable deducing the right answer from an incomplete or messy set of information
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple quotes/orders simultaneously without losing accuracy
  • Comfortable with numbers, measurements and technical specifications (trade, drafting, engineering, manufacturing or construction background highly regarded, but not essential if the aptitude is there)
  • Confident written and verbal communicator — you’ll be liaising with builders, architects and trade customers regularly, mostly by phone and email
  • Systems-savvy and comfortable learning internal software and quoting tools
  • A team player who works closely with production, estimating and operations, not in a silo

Why Join Aura

  • Join a Newcastle-based, award-winning manufacturer with a genuinely premium product
  • Become a real technical expert in architectural windows and doors — not generic order-processing
  • Office-based role with a clear, structured workflow — no walk-in retail pressure
  • Work closely with an experienced, supportive team (40+ years combined industry experience)
  • Real career progression — into estimating, technical sales, or operations as Aura grows
  • Ongoing product and technical training, not a one-week induction and you’re on your own

If you’re someone who likes to solve the puzzle — reading between the lines of a spec sheet, chasing down the missing detail, and getting the quote exactly right — we’d love to hear from you.
