  • Community Members are remunerated for their participation, including attendance at meetings and approved activities, in accordance with the RANZCP Community Member Remuneration Policy.

Key attributes include:

  • Strong connections with Māori communities, whānau, hapū, iwi, or Māori networks
  • Lived experience and/or experience within community, whānau, or advocacy contexts, including engagement with mental health services and/or psychiatrists

  • Confidence in providing cultural advice and Māori perspectives
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for Māori
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Previous governance, advisory, leadership, or community advocacy experience will be highly regarded.

Te Kaunihera plays an important role in strengthening partnerships, informing organisational direction, and ensuring Māori voices are reflected in planning, policy, and service delivery.
