This is a full-time temporary position for the duration of our Queensland project, currently scheduled for completion in March 2027. There may be an opportunity for the role to be extended beyond this date, subject to project requirements and individual performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Take ownership of projects from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Develop and manage project programmes, monitoring progress and maintaining alignment with key milestones and client expectations.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, plant and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, procurement activities, progress claims, variations and cost reporting.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for project-related matters.
- Oversee the planning and execution of construction activities, working closely with supervisors and site personnel to resolve issues and maintain productivity.
- Ensure all quality assurance requirements are met and project documentation is kept up to date and compliant.
- Monitor project risks and identify opportunities to improve performance, productivity and project outcomes.
- Manage resource allocation, including labour, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
- Prepare and present regular project reports covering progress, financial performance, programme status and key project risks.
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across all project activities.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects in a Project Manager role.
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Experience working across major civil infrastructure projects, including roads, rail, water, utilities, energy or bulk earthworks.
- Strong commercial and contractual management skills, with experience managing project budgets, forecasting, claims and variations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of bulk earthworks, including cut-to-fill operations, benching, battering, site levelling and material management.
- Experience managing earthmoving operations, including scrapers and large-scale earthworks activities.
- Knowledge of GPS machine guidance and machine control systems.
- Strong understanding of ground conditions and material handling practices.
- The ability to develop and manage project programmes using tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore or similar.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and delivery teams.
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A track record of delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
