Ascot Group is growing, and as we grow, so does the way we support our people and leaders. We’re looking for a Senior People & Culture Business Partner who wants to be genuinely part of the business.

  • Not HR from the sidelines.
  • Not someone who hands over a framework and considers the job done.
  • And definitely not someone who needs everything to be perfectly defined before getting started.

We’re looking for someone who can walk onto a project site, sit down with a leader, understand the challenge in front of them, and work alongside their teams to find a practical way forward.

What could your days involve?

This is a broad, hands-on partnering role where no two weeks will look exactly the same.

You could be:

  • Coaching a leader through a difficult performance conversation.
  • Helping shape a new team or organisational structure.
  • Working through an employee relations matter that needs good judgement and a practical approach.
  • Supporting leaders and teams through change.
  • Partnering on remuneration, recognition and performance decisions.
  • Spending time on a project site understanding how our people practices work in the real world.
  • Spotting something that could work better and then helping make it better.

You’ll work across organisational design, performance, employee relations, change, onboarding, reward and recognition, engagement and people insights.

We are on the lookout for someone who…

Gets alongside the business.  You build credibility by understanding the work, the people and the environment not just the policy.

Can coach & do.

Sometimes you’ll guide. Sometimes you’ll challenge. Sometimes you’ll roll up your sleeves and work through it together.

Keeps things practical.

You can bring strong P&C thinking without turning every people challenge into a 30-page framework.

Has the confidence to have the conversation.

You can build genuine relationships while still being comfortable challenging thinking, holding boundaries and tackling the harder stuff.

The Experience you’ll bring

You’ll have solid experience as a Senior People & Culture Business Partner, HR Business Partner or senior HR generalist, with strong capability across construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, logistics, utilities or another operational environment. Where you are someone who genuinely enjoys getting out from behind the desk and understanding how the work gets done.

Why Ascot Group?

For 15 years, Ascot Group has delivered specialised building services across aged care and retirement living, education, government and commercial environments.

You’ll be part of a broader People, Culture & Communications team with specialist capability across Talent, Learning & Development, Communications and Belonging. While owning the relationship and outcomes across the areas you support.

This is a highly visible national role, with regular travel to our offices and project sites, because the best People & Culture partnering doesn’t happen from a distance.

It happens where the work happens.

Have we peaked your interest?

We’d love to hear from people who want to help build something not simply inherit it.
