Summary:

The Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering relationships between the organisation and the local community. This position is essential for enhancing community involvement and ensuring effective volunteer management, thereby contributing to the overall mission of the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting volunteer opportunities and strengthen community ties.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, rostering of volunteers, and retention efforts.
• Organise community events and activities to foster engagement and participation.
• Maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives.
• Prepare reports and presentations on community engagement activities.
• Assist in the development of promotional materials to raise awareness of volunteer opportunities.

About You:

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in community engagement, social sciences, or a related field.
• Proven experience in volunteer coordination or community outreach, highly regarded.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A passion for community service and volunteerism.
• Demonstrated passion for animal welfare and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of companion animals, with an appreciation of the values and mission of a not-for-profit animal welfare organisation.
