Amity Health is seeking an experienced and values-driven Team Lead, Integrated Primary Mental Health Care (IPMHC) to provide leadership and operational oversight across our mental health services within the Great Southern, Wheatbelt and Coastal Wheatbelt regions.

About Integrated Primary Mental Health Care (IPMHC) 

Funded by the WA Primary Health Alliance, the IPMHC program offers fully funded support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges across the Great Southern and Wheatbelt regions. IPMHC exists to address the significant physical and mental health inequities experienced by people living with mental health issues by improving access to equitable, culturally safe, and integrated care. Grounded in an understanding of the social, economic, and environmental drivers of health inequity, the program delivers flexible, biopsychosocial and collaborative responses that address barriers to care and support early intervention, improved health outcomes, and overall well-being.  

The program provides counselling services and clinical care coordination through three tailored options:  

• Wellbeing Counselling – self-referral for individuals aged 16 and over, offering up to six sessions to enhance mental wellbeing through support, education, and skill development.  
• Mental Health Therapy – for individuals aged 18 and over, providing six to ten sessions of comprehensive therapeutic support via GP referral.  
• Clinical Care Coordination – assisting GPs in managing patients with severe, persistent mental health conditions, ensuring a holistic, integrated approach to care. 

About the Role 

This is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day coordination, performance and quality delivery of the IPMHC program. Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health Services, you will provide operational oversight, workforce leadership and clinical governance support while ensuring services are delivered in accordance with funding requirements, organisational priorities and best-practice frameworks.  

As the Team Lead, IPMHC, you will: 

• Coordinate and support the day-to-day operations of the IPMHC program, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, within required timeframes and to a high standard. 
• Monitor program performance, KPIs, client outcomes and service data, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.  
• Oversee caseload distribution, intake flow and risk escalation processes to support sustainable service delivery.  
• Provide leadership, guidance, supervision and secondary consultation to clinicians and mental health professionals across the program.  
• Promote evidence-based, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice across all service streams.  
• Support workforce capability through onboarding, training, coaching, supervision and performance development. 
• Lead incident management, critical risk assessment and high-risk case review processes in line with organisational requirements.  
• Monitor compliance with clinical governance frameworks, legislative requirements, funding agreements and organisational policies. 
• Prepare reports, performance updates and submissions to support contractual and compliance requirements.  
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with GPs, psychiatrists, allied health providers, schools, community organisations and local service networks.  
• Represent the program at regional meetings, interagency forums and community networks to strengthen collaboration and improve service access and client outcomes.  
• Contribute to service innovation, including embedding lived experience through a dedicated Peer Worker and strengthening community engagement to improve mental health access and outcomes across the region. 

This is a permanent part-time position, 4 days per week, based in Albany, WA. 

About You 

You are an experienced mental health professional with a strong understanding of community-based mental health service delivery and a passion for leading teams to achieve positive outcomes for clients and communities. 

You bring: 

• Substantial experience in community-based mental health practice, including the assessment and management of complex and high-risk presentations.  
• Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership, guidance and secondary consultation within a multidisciplinary team environment.  
• Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches to care.  
• Experience supporting clinical risk assessment, safety planning and decision-making.  
• Excellent organisational, case management and time management skills.  
• High-level written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement and report writing.  
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and compliance requirements.  
• The ability to build and maintain effective partnerships across health, mental health and community sectors.  
• Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. 

Essential Requirements 

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Nursing or a related discipline, with substantive experience and/or relevant postgraduate qualifications.  
• Current AHPRA General Registration or AASW Registration.  
• Current National Police Clearance.  
• Current Working with Children Check.  
• Current National Disability Check.  
• Current WA Driver’s Licence.  

Desirable 

• Postgraduate qualifications in Leadership, Human Services Management or a related field.  
• Qualifications or micro-credentials in trauma-informed practice, community engagement, co-design, social impact measurement or program evaluation.  
• Experience establishing, facilitating or evaluating community-based mental health or wellbeing programs.  
• Experience supervising or mentoring clinicians within a multidisciplinary environment. 
• Demonstrated completion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety training.
