We are continually growing and currently have an exciting opportunity for Youth Workers to join our team. You will work as part of our caring and committed team to provide holistic support to participants to get the best from their plan, their community, and their lives.

We are seeking passionate, resilient, and dedicated Youth Workers (Community Support Workers) to join our Children Services team, primarily within the Targeted Care Packages (TCP) Program. This rewarding role provides intensive support to young people with complex needs, helping them build stability, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes.

As a Youth Worker (Community Support Worker), you will provide person-centred support to young people, individuals and families across our Targeted Care Packages (TCP) and NDIS programs. You will work with young people and those with a disability who may have experienced trauma, present with complex behaviours, face challenges related to alcohol and other drug (AOD) use, live with disability, or require specialised support to enhance their safety, wellbeing, independence, and participation in their community. Using a trauma-informed and therapeutic approach, you will build positive relationships and support young people to achieve their individual goals and outcomes.

Role Requirements:

  • Support young people to achieve their Targeted Care Package goals by delivering person-centred support through a trauma-informed and therapeutic approach through 1:1 and 2:1 supports.
  • Support participants to live independently and achieve their goals that are aligned with their NDIS plan, through one-on-one support.
  • Availability for flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Assist with personal care, health care and domestic household duties, including mobility needs, cleaning, washing, shopping and meal preparation.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations around Bendigo and surrounding regions.
  • Transport participants in a privately owned vehicle that is both registered and insured.
  • Use of a compatible personal electronic device (Apple or Android) with access to the internet.
  • Experience supporting young people with trauma, mental health, and complex behaviours and needs (desired).
  • Experience in child protection/residential care or working with young people (desired).

You Will Need:

  • Qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (or willingness to work towards).
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Vehicle registration and car insurance.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • NDIS Worker’s Orientation Module – ‘Quality Safety and You’.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (National Police Check).
  • International Criminal History Check (If relevant).

This position is paid under the SCHADS Award starting at Level 2 and paid at a level in line with experience. Salary Packaging of up to $15,900 available including Meals and Entertainment benefits.
