Description

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and analytical Automation & Innovation Lead who enjoys solving complex business problems and delivering practical solutions.

You will work collaboratively with operational leaders, technology teams, and executives to understand business challenges, define requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the successful delivery of strategic projects.

Projects may include business process transformation, workflow automation, system enhancements, reporting and analytics initiatives, digital solutions, and enterprise technology implementations.

This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence operational and technology outcomes across a growing national organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the discovery, analysis and documentation of business requirements across a range of initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and interviews to identify opportunities, challenges and improvement areas.
  • Analyse existing business processes and design future-state solutions that improve efficiency, quality and customer outcomes.
  • Develop process maps, requirements documents, business cases, functional specifications and project documentation.
  • Partner with operational and technology teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
  • Support the delivery of automation, system enhancement and digital transformation projects.
  • Coordinate testing, implementation, training, and change management activities where required.
  • Analyse data and operational trends to provide actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor initiative outcomes and support continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by providing analytical and solution-focused support.

About You

In prior roles, you have fast become the go-to person for solutions. Your forward-thinking, solutions-focused mindset remains grounded in the practical realities of business requirements, allowing you to strike the right balance between operational needs and technical capabilities.

You have experience working across projects, process improvement initiatives, or business transformation activities and are comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Our ideal applicant can demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly when priorities shift. This is essential in the Insurance Building industry, which is often influenced by weather events and regulatory changes.

Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who is the right fit for our team and culture. While experience is valuable, we place a strong emphasis on attitude, personality, and approach. We believe the right person is someone who is curious, adaptable, collaborative, and genuinely motivated to drive positive change.

You are someone who takes personal ownership and sees tasks through to completion. You don’t assume someone else will pick things up, and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done. Whether it’s ensuring actions are followed through, stakeholders are kept informed, or initiatives are properly closed out, you operate with an “it’s my responsibility until it’s done” mindset.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience supporting technology, automation or business transformation initiatives.
