Description

We’re a close-knit team working across a wide range of projects, from early previs through to full VFX production and final delivery. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary group and have real exposure to the full pipeline from day one.

As CG Supervisor, you will be the technical and creative spine of our CG pipeline, leading multi-disciplinary teams across our Sydney and Adelaide teams while actively shaping how artificial intelligence and machine learning accelerate and elevate the craft.

This is not a role for someone who manages from a distance. You will be at the coal face, solving hard problems, mentoring artists, and building the pipeline of tomorrow – one that seamlessly blends traditional CG excellence with emerging AI-driven workflows.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Own the end-to-end CG pipeline across – setting and upholding the highest technical bar on every show
  • Lead and mentor supervisors, leads and artists, building a culture of craft, curiosity, and continuous improvement
  • Drive the integration of AI and machine learning tools into production workflows – from ML-assisted denoising and neural rendering to generative asset development
  • Collaborate with VFX Supervisors, Producers, and Pipeline TDs to solve cross-departmental challenges and remove creative blockers
  • Evaluate and champion emerging technologies (NeRF, Gaussian Splatting, diffusion-based tools) and translate their potential into practical production gains
  • R&D and prototype, test, and deploy ML models that enhance artist efficiency without sacrificing creative control
  • Troubleshoot rendering, pipeline, and workflow issues at pace – making clear decisions under production pressure

WHO YOU ARE

  • A proven CG Supervisor or senior technical lead with feature film or high-end episodic credits
  • Deep fluency across the CG discipline stack – lighting, shading, FX, rigging, or rendering, with strong cross-department understanding
  • Genuinely excited about AI and ML in production: you have hands-on experience with tools like CopyCat, ComfyUI, and other ML-based tools, or you have been actively experimenting with what is coming next
  • A natural leader who brings clarity and calm to complex, fast-moving productions
  • Comfortable working across studios and time zones, with experience in distributed team environments
  • Strong communicator who can translate technical constraints for creative stakeholders and creative ambition for technical teams
