The Opportunity
The CFO is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for driving financial strategy, operational excellence, governance, and long‑term business performance. This is an exciting time to join Altus This role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on financial management, ensuring Altus continues to grow sustainably while maintaining the high standards, client focus, and the people‑centred culture that defines us.
You’ll partner closely with the CEO, COO, Directors, and Divisional Leaders to guide decision‑making, strengthen financial capability across the firm, support our employee‑ownership model, and support the successful implementation of growth via mergers and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Financial Stewardship
- Provide clear, data‑driven insights to support strategic planning, forecasting, and investment decisions.
- Oversee budgeting, financial modelling, scenario planning, and long‑term capital management.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial governance, controls, and risk management.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Support the CEO/COO with financial due diligence, valuation, modelling, and commercial assessment of potential acquisitions.
- Partner with the CEO/COO to identify, evaluate, and negotiate opportunities aligned with Altus’ strategic direction and culture.
- Oversee post‑acquisition financial reporting, performance tracking, and optimisation.
- Build frameworks and processes that support scalable, repeatable M&A activity as Altus continues to grow.
Operational & Commercial Performance
- Strengthen financial systems, processes, and reporting to support scale and efficiency.
- Partner with Divisional Leaders to optimise pricing, profitability, and resource allocation.
- Lead financial analysis to identify opportunities for growth, margin improvement, and operational optimisation.
- Oversee cashflow management, working capital, and treasury functions.
Leadership, Culture & People
- Contribute to a high‑performing, collaborative executive team that models Altus’ values.
- Lead and develop the finance team, building capability, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support the employee‑ownership model through transparent financial communication and education.
- Champion a culture of integrity, trust, and commercial discipline across the business.
Compliance & External Relationships
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisers, financial institutions, and key partners.
- Manage the Altus finance corporate governance, risk frameworks, and financial reporting obligations.
