About The Role

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Product Development Assistant to join our Design team and work alongside our experienced Product Development Manager.

In this role, you will assist with the product development of new school uniform ranges, redesigns and the replication of existing uniforms for both our retail and wholesale customers.

This position would suit someone with a background in apparel product development, garment construction or graphic design, or someone currently studying a relevant qualification.

This is a part-time role (20+ hours per week). Days and hours are flexible and will be discussed with the successful applicant.

Main duties will include:

  • Creating concept boards and presentation material using Adobe Illustrator
  • Creating garment technical drawings for Tech Packs and specifications
  • Entering sample orders into our computer system
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding sample requests, specifications, tech packs, lab dips, handlooms and embroidery strike-offs.
  • Updating critical path spreadsheets in Excel
  • Attending meetings with schools alongside the Product Development Manager as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop Skills (essential)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • An understanding of garment construction and fabrics.
  • Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes (highly regarded).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
