Description

Seven months in, and voco Gosford has already become the place to be. Now we’re after a Front Office Duty Manager for our 130 room Hotel to help us build on that momentum and keep raising the bar.

Since opening our doors, we’ve settled into being the Central Coast’s go-to for both guests and locals: 130 rooms, a 2000m² modern Aussie pub, a rooftop bar with Brisbane Waters views, a signature restaurant, a swim-up pool bar, and two levels of rooftop event space. Now it’s about sharpening what we do and growing the team behind it.

As Front Office Duty Manager, you’ll work alongside our Executive Assistant Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager running the Front Office — reservations, guest experience, phones, all of it — making sure every guest walks away with a great story. And because you’re joining part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s biggest hotel groups with 6,500+ hotels across 100+ countries, this isn’t just a job at one property. It’s a foot in the door to a genuinely global career.

What you’ll actually be doing

  • Act as the Manager on Duty, confidently handling guest feedback, incidents, emergencies, and operational challenges while maintaining a calm and professional approach
  • Leading check-in and check-out with the Front Office crew
  • Building a team culture people want to be part of
  • Keeping service standards high — professional, warm, personal
  • Making sure guests have everything they need for a memorable stay
  • Doing the rounds — inspecting front office and public areas, fixing issues on the spot
  • Collaborate closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Sales, and other departments to ensure seamless daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.
  • Keeping the team trained up on compliance, safety, systems and service standards
  • Drive hotel revenue by identifying opportunities to maximise occupancy, convert walk-in business, and achieve room upsell targets

What you’ll bring

  • A degree or equivalent in Hotel or Business Administration
  • Able to work a 24 hour rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
  • 2-3 years in guest service/hotel roles, including at least 1 year in a management role (or an equivalent mix of study and experience)
  • Have non-restricted working rights in Australia
  • Valid RSA and First Aid certificate
  • Fluent in the local language, with other languages a bonus
