About the position
AMS is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our IT team. This is a hands-on role providing frontline technical support across the business and is key to ensuring our people have reliable, responsive and effective technology support.
The position will provide day-to-day support across end-user hardware, Microsoft 365, business applications, connectivity and workplace technology, while also contributing to cyber security, systems stability and continuous improvement initiatives. Working within a small IT team, this position provides an opportunity to develop broad technical experience across Microsoft technologies, cloud services, networking, business systems and digital initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests, providing timely and user-focused assistance across AMS offices and operational locations
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, Microsoft 365, connectivity and business application issues, escalating complex matters where required
• Configure and deploy computers, mobile devices, peripherals and standard software, and support workplace technology including meeting rooms and audiovisual equipment
• Assist with user onboarding, role changes and offboarding, including account access, permissions and multifactor authentication
• Maintain accurate IT asset, licence, support and technical records
• Follow AMS cyber security, access control and information management requirements and assist with routine security and compliance activities
• Maintain support documentation and contribute to continuous improvement, automation and digital initiatives
• Work collaboratively with the IT team to provide reliable support coverage and ensure issues are followed through to resolution
About You
You enjoy solving problems, helping people and finding practical solutions to technology issues. You will be comfortable supporting users with varying levels of technical knowledge and communicating technical information clearly and professionally.
AMS will provide ongoing training and professional development to support this next step in your career, but you’ll already be off to a great start if you have previous experience in the following areas:
• Previous experience providing IT support in a business or customer service environment
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 and basic networking concepts
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks
• Reliable, proactive and willing to learn new technologies and develop technical capability
• Responsible approach to system access, confidential information and cyber security
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, cloud platforms or business systems would be well regarded
A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline would be desirable but is not essential.
