About the Opportunity
We’re seeking a Paralegal to join our ADA Law team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a law student or paralegal to gain practical experience in a purpose-driven legal environment. Working closely with experienced solicitors, you’ll develop your knowledge of tribunal processes, legal administration and client service while supporting matters that have a genuine impact on the lives of vulnerable Queenslanders.
You’ll play a key role in supporting the legal team with case management, file administration, stakeholder liaison and maintaining client records. No two days are the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to build valuable skills across a diverse range of legal and administrative tasks.
In this Role, You Will
- Support solicitors with case administration and file management.
- Maintain client records and reporting systems.
- Liaise with tribunals, government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate legal documents and correspondence.
- Respond to client enquiries and support day-to-day office operations.
- Contribute to process improvements and quality initiatives.
About You
You are organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with a genuine interest in the law and a commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community.
You will bring:
- Current law studies and/or previous paralegal experience.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound legal literacy and a general understanding of legal processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and confidence using technology.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a small, supportive team environment.
Desirable Experience
- Legal administration experience within a law firm, Community Legal Centre or similar environment.
- Knowledge of guardianship, administration, mental health or human rights legislation.
- Experience using Salesforce and/or Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Essential Requirements
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Current National Criminal History Certificate.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
