Trainee Accountant

Looking to start your accounting career while you study?

We are a boutique chartered accounting firm seeking a motivated and capable university student who wants real hands-on experience, ongoing mentoring, and a genuine pathway into a professional accounting career.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Bachelor of Commerce student who has completed at least one semester and is looking to gain practical experience in a supportive and professional team environment.

You’ll work closely with experienced accountants and managers, gain exposure to real client work, and develop valuable technical and professional skills while continuing your studies.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will assist our accounting team with a broad range of client work, including:

  • Preparing income tax returns
  • BAS and GST preparation
  • Bookkeeping and cloud accounting support
  • Bank reconciliations and general accounting tasks
  • Assisting managers and senior accountants with client work
  • Learning accounting systems, processes and client communication

This is not an admin role — you’ll receive practical training and real-world experience that will help fast-track your accounting career.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has commenced a Bachelor of Commerce degree (minimum one semester completed)
  • Is motivated to build a long-term career in accounting
  • Is reliable, organised and eager to learn
  • Has strong attention to detail
  • Communicates well and enjoys working in a team
  • Shows initiative and a positive attitude
  • An Australian resident with full work rights
  • Willing to undergo identity verification and police checks

Previous accounting experience is not required. We care more about your attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.
