Due to continued growth and upcoming projects, we are seeking experienced Supervisors and Leading Hands to join our operations team.

About the Role

These are hands-on, site-based role leadership roles responsible for coordinating crews, plant, subcontractors and daily site activities across civil construction projects.

We are currently recruitment for multiple Site Supervisor and Leading Hand positions across upcoming NSW, SA and ACT projects.

The successful candidates will work closely with Project Managers, Area Managers and site teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to specification.

Supervisors will take a higher level leadership role across project delivery, planning, crew coordination, while Leading Hands will provide day to day operational support and leadership on site.

Additional Role Details

  • Projects located across regional NSW, SA and ACT
  • Regular travel and working away from home required
  • 10/4 and project based roster requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily site operations
  • Lead site crews and subcontractors, providing clear direction on daily tasks and priorities
  • Coordinate plant, equipment and resources across projects
  • Deliver works safely, on time and to specification
  • Monitor productivity, progress and quality outcomes
  • Conduct daily pre-starts and toolbox talks
  • Ensure site safety, quality and environmental requirements are implemented and maintained
  • Manage site documentation including dockets, pre-starts and SWMS
  • Identify and resolve site issues promptly, escalating where required
  • Promote a positive, safety focused and respectful site culture
  • Mentor and support crew members and developing operators
  • Operate plant and equipment where required

Additional Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily construction activities and project sequencing
  • Monitor productivity, resourcing and project performance
  • Liaise with Project Managers and clients regarding project delivery outcomes
  • Support workforce planning, mentoring and development
  • Drive safety and quality across projects

Selection Criteria

  • Extensive experience in civil construction, in a supervisory role or leading hand capacity
  • Earthworks and/or pavement experience is highly regard and preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans and site documentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate commitment to safe work practices and leading by example
  • Experience operating and working around plant, vehicles and earthmoving equipment
  • Proven ability to lead crews and manage plant and resources on site
  • GPS and survey experience highly regarded
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work on regional projects
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card) – essential
  • Asbestos and Silica Awareness (or willingness to obtain)
  • Relevant plant tickets and competency verification (highly regarded)
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
