About Us:

Just Reinvest NSW (JRNSW) is an Aboriginal-led organisation dedicated to reducing the overrepresentation of Aboriginal people in the criminal justice system. We advocate for justice reinvestment: redirecting resources from punitive criminal justice systems toward community-led initiatives that address root causes. Our work is grounded in collaboration with Aboriginal communities, ensuring solutions are driven by local priorities and cultural knowledge. By fostering opportunities for systemic change, we aim to create safer and more empowered communities across NSW.

The Role:

Work directly with young people to support their participation in programs and activities designed to build stronger community ties and reduce contact with the criminal justice system. You’ll coordinate workshops, meetings, and events, and build strong relationships with young people, their families, and the wider community.

You’ll also collaborate with schools, local services, and community groups to help deliver culturally safe and engaging programs. Your work will be key to supporting the voice and agency of young people in Moree, while contributing to our broader justice reinvestment efforts.

What You’ll Do:

• Engage with young people to support participation in youth programs and activities.

• Coordinate and deliver meetings, workshops, and events that are engaging and inclusive.

• Work with our Research and Data team to collect feedback and improve our programs.

• Maintain accurate attendance and participation records.

• Build strong relationships with community members and stakeholders.

• Help set up venues and materials, and support guest speakers or external facilitators.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of youth programs.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with Aboriginal young people and communities.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to plan and coordinate events and activities.

• A genuine passion for supporting young people to thrive.

• Organised, proactive, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Knowledge of youth services, justice reinvestment, or community development is a plus.
