The Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Support young people aged 16–17 to develop independence skills
  • Promote safety, wellbeing, and positive routines
  • Provide emotional and practical support
  • Maintain professional boundaries at all times
  • Record daily logs, incidents, and support plans
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, managers, and external agencies
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and report concerns immediately
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, welcoming accommodation environment

This role requires consistency, compassion, resilience, and a genuine commitment to young people’s welfare.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals
  • Strong safeguarding awareness
  • Ability to build positive, professional relationships
  • Good communication and recording skills
  • Reliable, consistent, and emotionally resilient
  • Willingness to work shifts
  • Enhanced DBS (children’s workforce) – or willingness to obtain one

Desirable

  • Experience working with looked after children
  • NVQ Level 3 (Children & Young People / Health & Social Care)
  • Knowledge of Supported Accommodation Regulations (2023)
  • First Aid, safeguarding, or de‑escalation training
