Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Project Manager to join a leading name in the telecoms / fibre industry, based in East London and covering fibre optic installation and maintenance projects across the UK, including London and the South East. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and successful completion of these fibre optic projects. Your strong leadership skills will be essential in effectively managing a team and ensuring the timely delivery of projects within budget.

Skills:

– Proven experience as a Project Manager within the telecommunications industry

– In-depth knowledge of fibre optic networks and infrastructure

– Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal skills

– Exceptional organizational and time management skills

– Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

– Proficient in project management software and tools

– Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

– Lead a team of professionals involved in the operational aspect of fibre optic schemes, covering installation, testing, and maintenance.

– Develop comprehensive project plans that outline objectives, timelines, resource allocation, budgets, risks assessment.

– Coordinate with stakeholders including clients, contractors/vendors/subcontractors to ensure effective communication throughout all stages of the project.

– Monitor project progress regularly to identify any deviations from planned schedules or budgets; implement corrective actions when necessary.

– Conduct regular site visits to oversee construction activities; address any issues or concerns raised by field staff, give safety briefings and toolbox talks.

– Report near misses.

– Work closely with the commercial team.

– Manage project documentation including contracts agreements progress reports etc., ensuring accuracy and completeness at all times.

– Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations throughout all aspects of project execution.

Qualifications / Experience:

-CSCS Card, NRSWA Supervisor, SMSTS

-Proven experience as a Project Manager within the telecommunications industry is essential

-Demonstrated experience leading large-scale fibre optic network projects

-Knowledgeable about relevant legislation/regulations governing telecommunication infrastructure deployment
