About the Role

Are you an ERP developer who enjoys turning complex business challenges into systems that make people’s working lives easier? We’re looking for an ERP Developer to play a central role in the development and Group-wide integration of our Epicor Kinetic platform.

This is an opportunity to shape how an ambitious international engineering business uses its data and systems. You’ll work closely with the Group IT & Business Systems Manager, the IT, senior leaders, process owners, and colleagues across the Group to develop functionality, connect business applications, and replace legacy processes with smarter, more reliable solutions.

You’ll have the freedom to get close to the business, understand how our teams operate, and see the impact of your work. From developing integrations and dashboards to supporting users and improving manufacturing processes, your work will help CMTG make better decisions and deliver quality, innovation, and service to our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

ERP Development & Integration

•Develop, enhance, and maintain Epicor Kinetic functionality that supports the changing needs of the CMTG Group.

•Design and build reliable integrations between Epicor and other business systems using REST APIs and appropriate development tools.

•Work with the wider team to deliver the successful rollout and integration of Epicor across our international Group.

•Migrate appropriate functionality and data from legacy systems and databases into Epicor, simplifying processes wherever possible.

•Use C#, Epicor development tools, and Application Studio to create maintainable solutions that follow good development practice.

•Support system upgrades, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring changes are controlled and well documented.

Business Process & Data Improvement

•Partner with process owners and users to understand business needs, challenge existing ways of working, and translate requirements into practical system solutions.

•Create clear, accurate reports and dashboards that give teams the information they need to make confident decisions.

•Help develop and improve manufacturing, planning, and MRP processes within the ERP environment.

•Ensure system developments support the delivery of customer quality, innovation, and service.

•Contribute ideas that improve data quality, process consistency, efficiency, and the overall user experience.

User Support, Training & Adoption

•Provide knowledgeable and approachable support to Epicor users, investigating issues and seeing them through to resolution.

•Develop and deliver practical training for process owners and users at all levels of the organisation.

•Create clear user guidance, process documentation, policies, and training materials that help colleagues use systems confidently.

•Build strong relationships across the business, encouraging adoption and helping teams realise the value of new functionality.

Security, Quality & Compliance

•Build cyber security and data protection principles into new functionality, integrations, and working practices.

•Ensure developments and processes support the Group’s ISO 9001, AS9100, EASA Part 21G, and EASA Part 145 quality approvals.

•Maintain accurate technical documentation and follow appropriate change control, testing, and release processes.

•Support the wider IT team with business systems and technical priorities when required.

Delivery & Collaboration

•Work with the Head of Business Systems to define, plan, prioritise, and deliver ERP development projects.

•Manage multiple workstreams effectively, communicate progress clearly, and raise risks or dependencies early.

•Support occasional travel to other CMTG sites where required.

About you

You’re a practical and curious ERP developer who enjoys understanding how a business works, not just how its software works. You can move comfortably between code, data, process conversations, and user support, and you take pride in creating solutions that are reliable, secure, and genuinely useful.

You have experience working with Epicor or another enterprise-level ERP platform and a good understanding of how ERP supports manufacturing operations. You are confident developing with C# and REST APIs and can turn stakeholder needs into clear, maintainable solutions.

You communicate well with both technical and non-technical colleagues. You listen carefully, ask the right questions, and can explain system changes in a way that helps people understand the value. Organised and solutions-focused, you are comfortable managing competing priorities and following work through from initial idea to successful adoption.

Essential experience and capabilities

•    Experience developing, configuring, or supporting Epicor or another enterprise-level ERP system.

•    Software or systems development experience using C# and REST APIs.

•    A sound understanding of manufacturing processes within an ERP environment.

•    The ability to define problems, understand stakeholder needs, and develop practical, supportable solutions.

•    Experience working with users to gather requirements, test changes, resolve issues, and support adoption.

•    Strong communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills.

Desirable experience

•    Hands-on experience with Epicor Kinetic, including Application Studio and layer development.

•    Experience setting up, developing, or maintaining MRP processes.

•    Working knowledge of web technologies and JavaScript.

•    Experience using or administering SharePoint.

•    Understanding of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and Active Directory environments.

•    Experience working with Microsoft Server and IIS-based web applications.

•    Experience within engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, or another regulated environment.

Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience would be welcomed. Above all, we’re looking for someone who enjoys solving meaningful business problems, working collaboratively, and helping people get more value from technology.
