Smart Environmental Ltd is seeking a motivated General Operative to join our Operational Team at our Material Recovery Facility in Kopu. This hands-on role is essential to the day-to-day running of the site and involves working as part of a team to ensure materials are sorted, processed, and handled safely and efficiently. Smart Environmental Ltd works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities providing rubbish and recycling collections. Acquired by Blue Planet and with a large fleet of collection vehicles and line haul operations, our mission is to divert waste from landfill.
About the Role:
• Contract Type: Permanent Full-time
• Days of work: Monday-Friday
• Hours of work: 35 to 40 hours per week.
Key responsibilities:
• Ability to differentiate material types.
• Communicating with internal staff.
• Sorting and collating recyclable materials.
• Strong awareness of Health and safety
Skills and experience:
• Holds a NZ Class 2 driver’s license
• Forklift license – A wheels endorsement is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong hand eye co-ordination
