About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Event & Venue Operations Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure seamless event delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Setup & Pack Down: Accurate and timely setup and dismantling of event spaces, marquees, and equipment according to plans and instructions.
  • Venue Maintenance: Ensure all furniture and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and correctly positioned.
  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot basic power-related issues and operate AV/tech equipment confidently.
  • Physical Tasks: Perform heavy lifting, assist with cleaning, and maintain a tidy and safe environment throughout events.
  • Parking & Crowd Management: Act as a parking warden and assist attendees or suppliers as needed.
  • Health & Safety: Follow all safety protocols, report hazards, and ensure safe spaces for guests and staff.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with the Events & Venue Manager and team to deliver high-quality service.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.
  • Tech-savvy with basic troubleshooting skills for power and AV equipment.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing event needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in events, hospitality, or venue operations preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Full NZ driver’s license (advantageous).
