ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Group Tax Specialist, you will play a critical hands-on role in managing the Group’s tax compliance and fixed asset registers across all business units. Partnering closely with the Group Tax Accountant, you will ensure accurate, timely and consistent tax treatment, robust reporting and strong governance across the Group.
This role sits within our Shared Services Finance team and is fully remote, offering flexibility while working with a highly collaborative national finance function.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Preparation of income tax return calculations and supporting documentation, and co-ordination of final tax return preparation with external tax advisors
- Calculation and lodgement of BAS/IAS, FBT and payroll tax obligations
- Ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations
- Calculating current and deferred tax provisions for consolidated group reporting
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed asset registers across all entities and business units
- Supporting half-year and year-end audits, including tax disclosures and audit queries
- Providing technical tax and fixed asset advice to Business Unit finance teams
- Liaising with external tax advisors, auditors and revenue authorities
- Developing standardised workpapers, templates and procedures to uplift tax governance
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and efficiency
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- CA, CPA or CTA qualification, or currently working towards
- At least 5 years’ experience in corporate tax, tax compliance or tax advisory roles
- Strong knowledge of Australian corporate income tax, GST, FBT and state-based taxes
- Practical experience managing fixed asset registers in multi-entity environments
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident stakeholder engagement and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial or ERP systems
