Gibbston Valley Winery is a family-owned winery and tourism destination where wine, hospitality, and people come together to create memorable experiences for guests from around the world. Our business spans cellar door experiences, restaurants, lodge accommodation, spa, events, and golf making Gibbston Valley a unique hospitality and tourism workplace supported by a diverse and dedicated team.

We are looking for a People & Culture Coordinator to help support that team assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee experience, and HR coordination across the business.

The Role

As the People & Culture Coordinator, you will support the employee lifecycle across our hospitality and tourism operations, working closely with managers and team members throughout the business.

You will often be the first point of contact for HR-related matters, helping ensure our people feel supported, informed, and set up for success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating recruitment processes including job advertising, candidate screening and interview scheduling
  • Supporting hiring managers and conducting reference checks
  • Managing onboarding processes, employment agreements and new starter inductions
  • Maintaining employee records and HR systems
  • Supporting training coordination and the Learning Management System
  • Assisting with performance review processes and HR documentation
  • Supporting employee engagement initiatives and team events
  • Managing HR reporting, exit interviews and general HR administration
  • Supporting immigration compliance including visa checks and job token submissions

About You

You enjoy working with people and take pride in helping create a positive, well-organised workplace.

You’re likely the person others rely on to keep things running smoothly someone who communicates confidently, pays attention to detail, and enjoys supporting both managers and team members in a busy operational environment.

You will likely bring:

  • Experience working in hospitality, tourism, or another fast-paced service environment
  • At least 2 years’ experience in HR coordination, recruitment, or administration
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confidence communicating with people across all levels of the business
  • A professional and discreet approach when handling confidential information

You enjoy working closely with operational teams, helping create a positive experience for new team members, and building your career in People & Culture within a growing hospitality and tourism business. You’re also someone who takes initiative, enjoys improving processes, and is comfortable working with managers to ensure people practices are applied consistently across the business.

Experience with Employment Hero or other HR systems would be an advantage.
