What about the role
We’re looking for Data Developers/Data Engineers who love building robust software and have a strong curiosity and passion for data. This isn’t a Data Analyst role, or that of a Data Scientist. This role blends software development, data engineering, and problem solving, to design and build solutions that make data meaningful, usable, and actionable. As a proud Microsoft Partner in Data Journalism, we deliver innovative solutions that bring data to life.
In this role, you’ll work alongside a talented team of developers, designers and data professionals applying your technical expertise and leverage modern programming languages, frameworks, and AI tools to create scalable, reliable solutions. We value developers who enjoy exploring new technologies, mentoring others, and solving complex challenges.

Here are some of the things we are looking for.
We have the ability to support your development, so even if you don’t tick all the boxes, if you can tick some, we would love to hear from you:
- Strong experience in software development using languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C#
- Experience in, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Power BI, SQL, ETL
- Ability to mentally model and visualize data to solve complex problems
- Understanding of building reliable, scalable systems and applying best practices
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code in a modern development environment
- A consultative mindset, able to combine technical expertise with clear communication and problem-solving for clients
- Enthusiasm for exploring new technologies, including AI, and sharing knowledge with the team
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to colleagues or clients
- Professional approach with attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving mindset
