The Opportunity
ContainerCo has an opportunity for a capable and motivated Supervisor to support the effective day-to-day running of the depot. Reporting to the Depot Manager, this role oversees and supports assigned team members to ensure high performance, safe work practices, and the efficient delivery of operational and customer requirements.
A significant focus of this position is supporting the flow of containers through the yard, ensuring any bottlenecks are addressed proactively, and safely. You will lead quality control and safety focus, and ensure staff are rostered correctly, utilising time well, and are focused on customer requirements. You will work closely with surveyors, repairers, reefer techs and depot staff to ensure work is completed safely, accurately and in line with customer and IICL requirements. Your knowledge will allow you to work with your key people to ensure they are completing tasks to the highest level and be able to feedback to them on areas for improvement.
You will play a key role in maintaining depot performance standards, supporting compliance requirements, and ensuring team productivity aligns with business demands. This is a hands-on operational leadership role suited to someone who understands depot and workshop environments, can manage competing priorities, and leads by example.
What you’ll Bring
- A strong commitment to safety.
- Proven experience in depot or logistics operations.
- Supervisory experience (preferred).
- Full NZ Driver Licence (required).
- ECH Container Hoist experience preferred.
- Experience within the shipping container
industry (preferred).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting performance and managing teams (preferred).
