The Role
The purpose of this role is to support the growth of BG&E Minerals within Western Australia. You would most likely have a civil or structural engineering background with the ability to lead a team working across a range of study and design contracts. Key responsibilities of this role would include:
- Tendering and then undertaking study management services on
non-process infrastructure and other projects, likely to include scopes with a capital value up to $250M. Typical scope inclusions may be haul road design, airstrip design, camp design, mine maintenance facility design, hydrology, bridges, earthworks, water supply and other civil infrastructure to support the mine operations.
- Tendering and then leading contracts for detailed design packages, likely to have fees in the range of $250k to $1M
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other project stakeholders as required for the delivery of projects
- Identify and manage technical and commercial risks on behalf of BG&E and its clients
- Coordinate with all engineering disciplines and actively participate in interdisciplinary workshops, constructability and value workshops, risk assessments etc as required
- Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate legislation, relevant standards, corporate requirements and systems
About You
You will be a key contributor within BG&E Minerals’ project delivery team where you’ll apply your
expertise across a range of studies and projects. More specifically, you should have:
- BEng or higher in a relevant engineering discipline, most likely to be civil/structural
- At least 10 years of relevant industry experience including study design and detailed design packages.
- Design and modeling experience ideally some of which was in the mining sector
- A dynamic and engaging demeanour enjoying client and team interaction rather than being more exclusively technically focused.
- Experience leading design teams including client and stakeholder management.
- Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles
- Skilled in appropriate software and able to produce clear, accurate documentation
- Proven experience in leading practical, buildable solutions subject to site constraints
- Strong communication and coordination skills, particularly with site teams, engineers, designers and contractors
- A proactive, hands-on approach to solving engineering challenges
