We’re on the egg hunt for a Livestock Manager to lead the charge at our Lichfield, Otakiri and Whakamaru sites, overseeing animal welfare, biosecurity, egg quality and production and farm compliance requirements.

Your Role in an eggshell

As the Livestock Manager, you’ll:

  • Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams – Set clear expectations, conduct weekly 1:1s, and create a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Operational & Bird Performance – Use data-driven insights, breed standards, and best-practice farming methods to optimise productivity, egg quality, and bird welfare.
  • Ensure Compliance & Best Practices – Conduct regular and ongoing site/shed inspections. Lead biosecurity, animal welfare, and health & safety initiatives, ensuring audit readiness is a daily standard.
  • Manage Resources & Efficiency – Oversee budgets, streamline processes, and optimise farm operations to achieve cost-effective, high-quality production.
  • Champion Innovation & Continuous Improvement – Identify and implement new strategies, technologies, and processes to push the boundaries of poultry farming excellence.

What You’ll Bring

Leadership Expertise: 7+ years of people management experience in poultry farming preferably covering multiple sites. High Emotional Intelligence with the ability to build strong relationships, win people to their cause and help others be their better-est selves.

Industry expert and Tech-Savvy: Exceptional knowledge of the Poultry Industry and Poultry Husbandry and skilled at driving production and performance outcomes. Identifies process efficiencies, manages resources, and champions change to support business growth and resilience. Excited by and skilled in utilising technology to influence outcomes. Sound mechanical aptitude and experience with poultry systems

Change Agent: Experience in implementing change and fostering a culture of adaptability & continuous improvement. Proven ability to lead fluid continuous improvement projects that enhance core farming outcomes in hen welfare, production and people.
