All Energy Contracting (AEC) is a leading multi-disciplinary construction contractor specialising in the renewable energy and power infrastructure sectors. AEC services span across a portfolio of major projects in utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage (BESS), high voltage connections, substations and distribution networks.

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our expanding team in New Zealand. This role presents a unique opportunity for someone who is driven to play a pivotal role in the business supporting the pre-contracts team with estimating and tender submissions, whilst also spending time on project sites across the country (as required) to support project execution, working on exciting renewable energy and power infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates, tender reviews and submissions for renewable energy and power infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure all estimates reflect project scope, including constructability, schedule, safety, and risk management considerations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of estimating strategies and processes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Review and negotiate offers from subcontractors, suppliers, and partners to ensure competitive, robust and cost-effective project solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, design consultants, and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, managers, and construction crews, to gather data on labour, materials, and productivity for accurate and robust cost estimates.
  • Provide project support (both on and offsite) in the preparation of project cost reports, summaries, claims, procurement and commercial activities along with presentations for internal stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in civil or electrical estimating, or an electrical trade background
  • Demonstrated experience handling claims and variations (Including negotiations)
  • Solid subcontract, procurement and commercial background.
  • Ability to travel and spend time on project construction sites across New Zealand
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment whilst also being able to work independently without close supervision

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong English proficiency, confident negotiation and sharp commercial acumen are key strengths, enabling informed decisions that consistently deliver value, drive project success and support the ongoing growth of the team.
