We are a fast-growing and well-respected multi-disciplinary consultancy providing a range of complementary services including crown-accredited property advisory, land acquisition, disposal, legalisation, planning services and project management. We help central and local government agencies, utility providers and private clients across the country from our offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Hawke’s Bay, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson and Christchurch. Sectors we operate in include roading, rail, housing, gas, electricity, three waters, education, recreation and more.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Based in our Hamilton office, you will lead, manage and help grow our Hamilton property team and
client base. You and your team will work across a range of projects for our clients whilst delivering great project outcomes, strengthening relationships and enhancing the company’s brand and reputation.
Key tasks associated with the role will include:
- Managing and delivering a portfolio of acquisition and other property projects.
- Supporting your team to fulfil and deliver projects on time, within budget and to a high standard.
- Providing technical advice and peer review
- Fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and values-driven team culture.
- Supporting staff reviews and the development of your team, including training and mentoring
- Assisting with recruitment and helping the Regional Manager grow the team.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Developing proposals and scopes of work for new property projects.
- Provide property advice and strategic guidance to clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring their needs are met through effective property solutions.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALITIES
The role will be suited to a current Team Manager or Team Leader, or a senior property professional who is ready to take the next step in their career.
The ideal candidate will have excellent time management, attention to detail, have a natural ability to
build relationships, demonstrate strong property knowledge, and above all, a collaborative approach – someone who is committed to contributing positively to both the company and our culture
You will have the following skills and experience:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Property or Law, and relevant industry experience in the property sector.
- Leadership and staff management experience would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of the Public Works Act (1981) and other relevant legislation.
- Demonstrable experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders and navigating complex environments associated with development, infrastructure, network utilities and other projects.
- Proven property acquisition, disposal or other relevant property experience.
- Confident using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and MS Project
- Sound understanding of GIS systems and how they connect with property.
- Full current driving license and full New Zealand residency or citizenship.
Prior experience working on NZ Transport Agency projects, and/or already having or working towards Land Information New Zealand accreditation, would be beneficial, but not essential.
