GM – External Affairs & Investor Relations will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our group, focused on engagement with capital structure stakeholders (debt markets, equity markets and other related financial intermediaries), key public relations/marketing service providers and direct engagement with government departments and agencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies for external affairs and investor relations to enhance the company’s public image and capital markets stakeholder engagement
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with financial institutions, financial intermediaries, advisers/analysts and other key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and transparency of the Group’s capital markets approach
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with government departments and agencies relevant to the Group’s activities
  • Lead the preparation of investor presentations, reports, and other communications to convey the company’s performance and strategic direction in conjunction with the CFO, GM – Finance and GM – Capital Projects
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for growth
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to align external communications and general marketing with corporate objectives and messaging
  • Oversee the organisation of investor meetings, conferences, and events to facilitate engagement and dialogue with stakeholders. Prepare and present financial reports and presentations to the executive team and stakeholders (including external capital providers for the purpose of capital raising)

About you:

  • Tertiary qualified, with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance or other related field
  • 15+ years experience in capital markets at a financial institution and/or investor relations at a listed corporate in New Zealand
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and market trends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with capital markets and government department stakeholders
