Description
Y Northern Territory | Corporate Services | full-time | Fixed-term maternity leave contract until 2 July 2027 |
Behind every great organisation is someone quietly making the magic happen. The cars are running, the laptops are set up, the bills are paid, the policies are fresh and the office isn’t out of coffee pods. One of our team is heading off on parental leave, and we need a legend to step in and keep things running. Could that be you?
Who we are
We’re the Y Northern Territory, and we’re on a mission to build a better world, with and for young people. We run Early Learning Centres, Outside School Hours Care, rec centres, pools, Youth Programs, Remote Pools and the Hostel. We show up for Territorians every single day. Big mission. Real impact. Zero fluff.
The role
You’re the person who makes the whole place run smoothly behind the scenes. Facilities, fleet, IT gear, insurance, policies, records, side quests (special projects) — it all flows through you. You’re also the go-to contact for head office. Basically, you keep the lights on, the cars running and the laptops working, and you do it with a customer-first mindset.
To absolutely crush it here, you’ll need to juggle deadlines like a pro, keep a cool head when things get messy, and bring people along for the ride by getting their input.
Business support: the first friendly face for enquiries, purchase orders, office ops and travel bookings
Fleet: rego, servicing, fuel cards and keeping the wheels turning
Facilities: capital works, maintenance, contractors and leases
IT & cyber: asset registers, new-starter setups and phishing sims (gotcha! 🎣)
Insurance: renewals and claims, handled like a pro
Budgets & procurement: tracking spend, managing suppliers and finding savings
Policies: keeping the rulebook current and looking sharp
What you bring to the table
- Experience in office management, procurement, and asset and property management.
- Next-level organisation skills — you can juggle multiple tasks, projects and priorities at once (even when deadlines clash) without breaking a sweat.
- You get WH&S and know how to make safe practices part of everyday life.
- Big-brain energy: strong critical thinking, problem solving, planning and decision-making.
- Solid tech skills, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Great communication skills and a knack for building real partnerships with your colleagues.
- You genuinely love working with people to hit goals and KPIs.
- You’re just as happy working solo as you are as part of the team.
- A professional, positive and creative mindset — always looking for ways to do things better.
