About the Role

Join One of Victoria’s Leading Competitive Gymnastics Programs

YMCA Geelong is seeking an exceptional and experienced Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) coach with an Advanced or above accreditation (Fig 1 equivalent will be considered and we can assist with costs to work towards Fig 2 qual) to join our highly regarded competitive program. This role is available for an immediate start, with consideration also given to candidates available to commence in early 2027.

Working across our Newtown and North Geelong venues, this 30-hour part-time position offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time role in 2027 We currently have exciting opportunities available for a coach to work across our High Performance (HP) pathways and ALP 7-10 program .This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious coach who is passionate about athlete development and striving for excellence. Our program has a strong reputation for producing successful gymnasts and fostering a positive, high-performance environment where athletes and coaches can thrive.

Join a team of dedicated and experienced coaches who are committed to developing the next generation of gymnasts at State, National, and High Performance levels. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the region’s most talented athletes while helping shape the future of competitive gymnastics in Victoria.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Current Gymnastics Australia Advanced Coach Accreditation in the relevant gymsport
  • Experience coaching Levels 7–10 athletes and supporting competitive development pathways
  • Strong understanding of gymnastics technique, skill progression, biomechanics, and athlete development
  • Excellent communication, motivation, and group management skills across a range of ages and abilities
  • Sound risk assessment and incident management judgement
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative coaching team
  • Commitment to Gymnastics Australia’s integrity, safeguarding, and body-care frameworks

What You’ll Be Doing

Deliver High-Quality Coaching

Plan and deliver engaging gymnastics programs that support athlete skill development, progression, and performance.

Support Competitive Pathways

Prepare gymnasts for assessments, competitions, and advancement through the Australian Levels Program.

Mentor and Lead Others

Provide guidance and support to developing coaches while contributing to a positive coaching culture.

Promote Safety and Wellbeing

Create safe training environments, manage risks, and champion child safety and wellbeing.

Build Strong Relationships

Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and fellow coaches to support participation and success.
