About the College

Located on a beautiful 136-acre property in the Yarra Valley (60 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD), Worawa Aboriginal College is a boarding school for Aboriginal girls in their secondary years of schooling. An Aboriginal initiative, Worawa is an Independent school owned and governed by Aboriginal people, and operates on a philosophy of Walking Together to Make a Difference.

Worawa provides a holistic education based on an integrated Education, Culture and Wellbeing model, with students drawn from Aboriginal communities across Australia.

Volunteering at the College

Worawa Aboriginal College welcomes expressions of interest from individuals interested in volunteering to support the College community.

Volunteer opportunities may arise across a range of areas aligned with the College’s educational, cultural and wellbeing programs, including:

  • Classroom support or tutoring support
  • Student mentoring and engagement
  • Cultural programs and activities
  • Camps, excursions or events
  • Administration or project support
  • Grounds, gardening or facilities support

Please note: Worawa is currently developing a structured volunteer program and is not onboarding volunteers at this time. Volunteer roles are unpaid and offered on a discretionary basis to support College programs. By submitting an Expression of Interest, your details will be kept on file and you may be contacted when volunteer opportunities become available.

Applicants must complete the Volunteer Expression of Interest Screening Questions and upload a copy of their resume. Submission of an application does not guarantee a volunteer opportunity. Expressions of interest will be reviewed based on alignment with College needs, supervision capacity, and compliance requirements.
