Worawa Aboriginal College is seeking expressions of interest from current teachers who may be interested in developing their leadership capability and taking on greater responsibility within the Academic Team for a short-term period during Term 4.

The successful applicant will commence prior to the coverage period, allowing time to work alongside the Head of Teaching and Learning and support a smooth handover and transition. They will then provide day-to-day leadership and coordination of the Academic Team through to the end of the 2026 school year.

The opportunity will include responsibilities such as

• supporting and mentoring teachers and learning support staff;
• providing day-to-day academic coordination;
• supporting consistent teaching, student engagement and behaviour management practices;
• leading Academic Team communication and meetings; and
• managing day-to-day staffing, timetable and student matters.

An additional allowance will apply for the period of short-term coverage.

Teachers interested in the opportunity are invited to submit a brief expression of interest outlining their interest and the skills, experience and strengths they would bring to the role.

There may also be an opportunity for the successful applicant to take on an ongoing Senior Teacher / Academic 2IC role in 2027.
