Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter Foreman to lead our construction team in Levin, Manawatu. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of building projects, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, and fostering a safe working environment. The Carpenter Foreman will play a key role in coordinating activities on-site, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters and other construction workers on-site.
  • Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Manage materials and resources efficiently to minimise waste and ensure timely project completion.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior carpenters and apprentices.
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
  • Prepare reports on project progress, including any issues or delays.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Relevant trade qualification or certification in carpentry.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
