Description

We are seeking an experienced Facility Services Manager to lead the teams responsible for maintaining the safety, presentation, and functionality of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and wider estate.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is primarily a leadership, coordination, and administrative role, focused on planning, ensuring compliance, fostering accountability, and overseeing the systems and resources that maintain facilities and assets across the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and wider estate. Through strong planning, coordination, and administrative oversight, the role ensures the grounds uphold the mana and significance of Waitangi while supporting a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Security, Cleaning, Grounds, Maintenance and Garden teams.
  • Oversee the maintenance and presentation of facilities, grounds, and gardens.
  • Ensure effective security operations to protect staff, visitors, buildings, and assets.
  • Coordinate suppliers, service providers and teams.
  • Manage budgets, operational planning, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislations and organisational policies

You will be a practical and experienced leader who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where safety, presentation, and visitor experience are important.

You will bring:

  • Industry experience such as facilities management, operations, or site services management
  • Proven leadership experience managing operational teams
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to build positive working relationships across teams and contractors
  • A full New Zealand driver licence
