Description

The Waitangi Treaty Grounds is seeking a proactive and organised Events Coordinator to support the Event Manager with the planning, setup, and delivery of events and functions across our site. This hands-on role supports the Event Manager in delivering exceptional events and ensuring every visitor enjoys a seamless, high-quality experience.

What you’ll be doing | Te whakamahere

  • Assist with planning, setup, pack down, and smooth delivery of events.
  • Prepare venues with equipment, furniture, décor, and supplies.
  • Provide on-the-day operational support and oversee small events.
  • Act as Duty Manager ensuring Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 compliance.
  • Support event administration: run sheets, documentation, reporting, and CustomLinc updates.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organised venues and storage areas.
  • Monitor health, safety, and guest wellbeing; actively participate as an HSR.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • LCQ qualification
  • Full driver’s licence
  • Duty Manager Certification (or willingess to obtain ASAP)

This is a permanent minimum 30 hour role suited to someone solutions-driven, who enjoys variety, and love creating memorable experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
